Treatment of Neck Lumps
The discover of a new lump in your neck can lead to anxiety and uncertainty. Most of the causes are not sinister but evaluation by a Head and Neck Surgeon is very important if the lump persists for longer than 3 weeks. Your GP can advise you.
Ceri Hughes offers a very comprehensive and personal service to evaluate neck lumps and provides rapid investigation, diagnosis and treatment if necessary.
Usually you need to be examined and a careful history taken. At the time of your consultation you will receive careful explanation of any further tests that may need to be done. These may include a painless endoscopic examination of your throat. You may also require an ultrasound examination of the lump and biopsy is sometimes necessary to provide reassurance.
In order to carry this out quickly and to offer peace of mind he works as part of a team which includes consultants in radiology and pathology of the Head and Neck: a specialist consultant led and delivered service.
